Meet ‘Hawkeye Is Dun’ — a stunning, registered, sound and well-built AQHA dun mare standing at 15.3HH.

If you’re looking for something that has the ability to hit the trails, do ranch work, obstacle work, gymkhanas, or play around with in the arena and is confident rider/intermediate+ friendly, this could be your girl!

At 15 years old, and in great shape and health, this girl has been primarily used on the trails and is happy going out and about — and she was even used in my lesson program over the summer for beginner adults! She has been used to move and check cattle — even being the only horse alongside a group of quads and ATV’s — , has competed in some low-key team sorting events, and has seen cowboy challenge obstacles. She has had ropes swung off of her and is strong and thick enough to make a great ranch horse.

She stands to be saddled, bridled and mounted. Her walk/trot/lope is smooth, levelheaded and forward. She steps into the trot or lope at the request of a vocal cue and maintains gait flawlessly. She understands the basics of working off your legs, but isn’t necessarily super technical, making her a fun ride for anyone from a confident intermediate, to a youth rider looking for their step up ride, or an experienced rider wanting something solid to do all-around work on.

She falls in a great medium between forward and responsive and calm and quiet. She is happy to work and perform in a relaxed manner, but is certainly NOT a dull/lazy horse.

She’s an easy keeper with no maintenance, goes barefoot, and hauls wonderfully.
