Meet Haze! The beginner safe, child-friendly, husband-horse (or should I say unicorn) that you've been waiting for!

Haze is a stunning brown (nearly black) 14.3-15HH, 15y/o QH mare who has tons of life experience! This girl is calm, quiet, laid-back, non-marish, and extremely personable and gentle. Haze has spent most of her life being used for trail/pleasure riding, but she also thrives in an arena setting! She has been used for everything from mountain trails to hunting trips, pack trips, trail rides, cattle work, and everything in between! She's the kind of girl who can sit for the winter and come back into work during the spring without a second thought.

This pretty lady is friendly, easy to catch, and at the bottom of the pecking order. She is completely fine in a mixed herd, has the sweetest demeanour, and truly wants to please. She has been used for all levels of riders, and would be a great addition for someone needing a family horse, kids horse, husband horse, or even a confidence booster. Whether you want to take her inside or out, she'll happy carry you wherever you want to go, being sure-footed, trustworthy, and reliable.

Haze is a soft and responsive ride, where, no matter the speed, she'll happily take care and adjust to the level of rider on her back. She guides beautifully between your hands and legs, is soft in her mouth, and has seamless transitions between gaits. She slows off your seat, and if she feels you tipping away or becoming unbalanced in the saddle, she'll slow down or stop for you. She's not an overly technical, but she understands the basics of hip and shoulder control and could easily be advanced in her maneuvers. Right now, she's at that perfect level where a beginner rider can properly learn the fundamentals on her, advance on her, and be well taken care of the whole time -- but someone more experienced can also enjoy her grittier side.

She stands still for mounting, is confident in new settings, and has an incredible mind. You can ride her down the trail without any other horses, check cows with her, and take her to new places without a second thought.

This girl would be perfect for another trail/pleasure home, a youth wanting to do gymkhanas, a ranch home needing something reliable to check cows, or an all-around family horse that the whole crew can enjoy! Let her sit for the winter or have weeks off at a time, she'll be the same horse day in and out.

Haze is good with her feet, has extremely polite ground manners (children can handle her with ease), is well desensitized, and enjoys being around people. Haze is AQHA registered as Miss Drift Badger (5068017). I have an electronic copy of her papers, however as we are in the process of securing the hard copy, she will sell as grade until then.

*Full disclosure: Haze did become tender on her front right in mid-April. She saw the vet, chiro, and had a Bemer session (with no significant findings other than the tenderness and needing some further muscling in her front right shoulder). Since she first became tender, she has drastically improved every day and is back to being 95% -- she's just a bit 'ouchy' trotting on hard ground. We since had another person look at her who believes it to be nothing more than a stone bruise from coming back into spring work. She travels and rides at all three gaits with no problems, and has never received any medication, treatment, or shoes. Haze has never had any previous soundness issues or injuries. I'm happy to discuss at length with anyone wanting more information.

*Please note that all horses are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, provided the home is a suitable match. We do not hold horses, nor will we ever ask for a deposit*
