Meet Reese, or RHR TEXAS SURVIVOR — an exceptionally quiet, well mannered and athletic 14.3 HH, 2017 Blue Roan filly that truly has the ability to be taken in any direction. Over the past 60 days (end of June-Sept), she has been in training with me for the Rocking Heart Ranch Colt Starting Competition. In that time, Reese has done everything from a multitude of cattle work, to Cowboy Challenge competitions, to schooling reining maneuvers in the arena.

This girl is soft and supple in her face, light and connected throughout her body in control, and relaxed and confident in performing a variety of work. She has a cute and smooth jog, a rocking-horse lope that she gently steps into at your softest request, and a great mind to match.

During her time with me, she has conquered mountain trails, swam through rushing rivers, sorted cattle and bulls, competed in Extreme Cowboy Racing, and proved her finesse in the arena. She has a polite and clean simple lead change, a solid ‘whoa,’ independent and combined control of her hip, shoulder and rib, and a well versed understanding of turn on haunches, turn on forehand, sidepass, leg yield, counter arc, rollbacks, etc. She guides between your hands and legs, collects up into herself softly and has been taught to hunt the circle at all gaits.

Outside of the arena, Reese has proved herself in a multitude of situations: Open gates off of her back, throw ropes off her, drag calf-sleds, carry flags, pony other horses, ride her out alone, bring the cows in, ride her without a bridle, or take her through a city and ride her through a drive-thru.

Reese has proven to be solid and un-phased - never having once bucked or bolted within her training.

She has proven to be a wonderful all-around ride that is calmly forward, responsive and relaxed. This lovely lady is bred for ranch work, but would certainly suit a broad variety of disciplines.

She will be presented to the public by auction (Lot 5) on Saturday, September 12 at the Rocking Heart Ranch Colt Starting Competition in Fort McCleod, AB.
